While Craymo’s ‘One Love One World (We Are One)’ has a very contemporary message, it was actually written back in 1993, when the artist was going through some very challenging times.
Then, as now, the news was filled with war, famine, and despair, and Craymo was inspired to write, coming up with a wake-up call to the world, which may well be the song of the summer.
Wonderfully crafted and anthemic, ‘One Love One World (We Are One)’, gives a voice to the voiceless, while inspiring others to strive for a life of equality, unity, empathy, and above all else, compassion. The reggae rhythms are catchy, forming a solid partnership with the infectious lyrics that will echo in your mind long after the song ends.
The accompanying music video shows a group of people, from all parts of life, wearing white in a symbol of unity. Brought together by a red ribbon, silky smooth, all members holding onto it, they symbolise the beating heart of the whole world. Members of the group hold up signs, and there’s writing on the walls, with messages such as “equal”, and “same as you”. Interspersed between this are clips of people going about their lives, enjoying nature, expressing themselves, all showing on their faces that they’ve found their ideal way to live.
