SB&IA Releases Powerful New Single, ‘Tu Es La Seule’

More than a decade in the making, ‘Tu es la seule’, from SB&IA, is a song born out of heartbreak, but one which will resonate with many.

SB&IA is the artistic banner of Sébastien B. & Independent Artists. ‘Tu es la seule’ is out now, and available to stream and download here.

The lyrics of the deeply personal song were written back in 2014, following a painful breakup. They came out in a single, urgent burst, with French artist Sébastien B. not embellishing the words with any metaphors or hidden meanings, but rather, in brutal honesty, laying out the feelings of someone who’s realised too late just what he had right in front of him all the time.

Later, he carefully crafted the instrumentals, recording the song in an independent studio in Mulhouse, maintaining the intimate yet powerful somberness of the original track.

Born in Toulon, back in 1986, Sébastien B. discovered French rap as a teenager and quickly found it was useful as both an emotional outlet, and a means by which to look out on the world. He soon started creating his own lyrics, inspired by such artists as Médine, Oxmo Puccino, Nekfeu, Bouchées Doubles and Explicit Samouraï.

The SB&IA collective project enables Sébastien B. to bring his words to life, by way of a variety of vocals and instrumental styles, and such, refuses to be restricted by labels. Instead, it serves as a means by which to explore a wide range of genres and sounds, including rap, electro, pop, and afrobeat, to name a few – as well as collaborating with independent artists from all backgrounds and influences.
