Bhloom’s ‘Doomscroll’ Encourages Us To Look At The World Around Us And Away From Our Phones

Straight out of Dallas, Texas, multi-talented guitarist, producer and composer Prabhu Ragunathan, is better known as Bhloom, and has made a name for himself for his incredible technical prowess, and innovative approach to music, especially with regard to metal.

A lover of prog-metal, Bhloom blends metal with other genres, exploring further ideas along the way, and his sound is characterised by rapid rhythmic guitar, unique song structures, and virtuosic lead guitar. Prabhu’s Bhloom project serves as a metaphor for his ever-evolving musical vision, and his latest track, ‘Doomscroll’, is an intense metal track that explores the current obsession with social media and tech, and shows how it makes people the issues of the world around them.

Sitting on his couch one day, Prabhu came up with a haunting, yet alluring sound, that really vibed with him. From there he created ‘Doomscroll’, with its distinctly cinematic feel. The track features Chaney Crabb (Entheos) on vocals, as well as keys from Rohan Sharma, of RO1, and takes the listener on an electrifying journey right from the start, with its rushing energy and apocalyptic technical metal sounds. The result is a reflection of the addictive nature of the internet.

Accompanying ‘Doomscroll’ is a lyric video, which fully captures the song’s intense cinematic feels. With an aesthetic resembling the Matrix, viewers are drawn into a world which mirrors the song’s themes of addiction to social media and technology. The sound is like nothing you will have ever heard before, and will leave you wanting for more.
