Gospel Artist Joseph And The Kohanim Releases Divinely Inspiring New Album ‘In Your Presence’

Released on July 28, ‘In Your Presence’ is the new album from Gospel artist, Joseph and the Kohanim. The album follows on from the success of his 2020 single, ‘I Have A Dream’.

Joseph has been passionate about music since his very early years, and started getting serious about making it in the 90s, taking inspiration from the likes of the Clark Sisters, John P Kee, Fela Kuti, Gyedu Blay Ambolley and Earth Wind and Fire. He had to take a hiatus however when he took up the mantle of missionary, focusing on spreading the Gospel rather than singing. He found the time and opportunity to restart his musical career in 2017, resulting in 2020’s ‘I Have A Dream’.

In making the ten track album, ‘In Your Presence’ Joseph describes crafting each song as having been a “voyage”, with the melodies and choruses playing in his thoughts before finally settling in their final positions. A truly international album, ‘In Your Presence’ sees Nigerian, South African, British, and American artists come together, with gorgeous vocals on songs such as the opener, ‘Beautiful World’, and ‘Dance Like David’, which follows on, with a stunningly spirited rap in Nigerian-Pidgin English from Fega Michaels.

Further into the album, South African artist Tee Mogano lends his striking vocals to ‘I’ll Be There’, while a chorus of singers, including artists from the UK, joins Joseph on this and also ‘Woke’. Additionally, Sharonda Griffin, from Detroit, Michigan, provides gossamer backing vocals on ‘Walking On Water’, and ‘Lord I Need You’.

‘In Your Presence’ was mixed and mastered in both Ghana and Detroit, and should serve as a testimony to the power of Gospel Music. ‘In Your Presence’ will get you humming and dancing along – no matter what your beliefs!

‘In Your Presence’ is out now, and can be streamed here. You can find out more about Joseph and the Kohanim and his music online on Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, and Apple Music.
