Both of these names will be instantly recognisable. Bruce Sudano is well known to regular readers here, we’ve been writing about him for years. In his latest single, ‘Two Bleeding Hearts’, he’s joined by Valerie Simpson, who’s a member of the Hall Of Fame, and has had a long career with her late husband, Nickolas Ashford.
Bruce of course, has worked with starts like Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and his late wife, Donna Summer, and his magnetic presence has seen his music career span 6 decades so far. Meanwhile, as part of Ashford & Simpson, Valerie toured worldwide, and together they wrote music for the likes of Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Marvin Gaye.
Together, Sudano and Simpson combine their deep insight from their respective careers, and have created a masterpiece in ‘Two Bleeding Hearts’. It’s a masterclass in the journey from heartache to hope and healing. With Valerie on keyboards and Bruce on guitar, together they reflect on the calm after the storm that arises from lovers’ fights; when all you want to do is move on, beyond all the pain.
The music video for ‘Two Bleeding Hearts’ is stunning. Classic and tasteful, the pair share the spotlight, performing together, at one with each other and their instruments. It’s a beautiful moment and we feel privileged to observe it.
