Canadian rapper and Jewish rap ambassador SHI 360 had a very eclectic upbringing, raised by North African parents in Israel, and his music reflects this. Additionally, he grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Otis Redding, Charles Aznavour, and Egyptian singer songwriter and actress, Umm Kulthum. SHI 360 first heard hip hop while lstening to “The Voice of Peace”, a pirate radio station run by Israeli peace activist, Abie Nathan.
SHI 360 has dropped back to back freestyle singles every Friday throughout 2018, and has now released his long anticipated album, ‘Elevate’, produced by the critically acclaimed Turkish rapper and producer, Sagopa Kajmer. His new single, ‘Only Got One’, featuring Talent Display, is from the album, and reminds us in no uncertain terms, that we have only one life to live, and regardless of how much it might not be perfect, we need to do the best with what we have.Shot in black and white, the clip for ‘Only Got One’ shows SHI 360 and Talent Display walking through a graffiti lined alley, under a highway overpass, and along railway tracks, all the while rapping the lyrics. SHI 360, who went through a near death experience himself, and underwent four heart surgeries, speaking about the track said,
“ ‘Only Got One’ has been on my mind for a while. I meet so many people who forget to appreciate what they have and make the most of it. Having to ‘die’ has given new meaning to my life, and I felt reborn.”
