Asbury Park’s Philosopher Pirate Channels Edgar Allen Poe With New Single And Video, ‘Raven’

The huge black birds with the intelligent knowing eyes have inspired many over the years – Joni Mitchell sang about one, Edgar Allen Poe quoted one, and then there’s the legend attached to those of the Tower of London – the great city will fall if the ravens ever leave. Now, Mike Kuzan of Philosopher Pirate adds his name to the list of those who’ve taken their cue from this bird, and his single, ‘Raven’, is the latest from the Asbury Park folk-rocker.

Swedish Band BIG NO NO Release New Single, ‘Hold Your Horses’

Swedish indie rock band Big No No have released the latest part of a new album in the works, a track titled ‘Hold Your Horses’. Following up their self-titled debut album in 2022, the four-man army have started work on a new piece expected to be released some time next year – a piece that explores lighter tones compared to the aforementioned 2022 release, which contained elements of 90s indie rock.

New Boom Bap Single, ‘El Matador’, Pairs NYC Legends Mic Nickels And Method Man

One of the snippets of Mic Nickels’s latest work, the brilliant album, ‘Bars for Days’, the new video for ‘El Matador’, released last month, on July 21st. The song pairs two of New York City’s best emcees on a vibrant instrumental to produce an awesome mix. Featuring Nickels alongside the internationally recognised rapper Method Man on the track, the two play off each other incredibly well, creating a smooth flow for two and a half minutes, from start to finish. This brilliant song (and newly-released accompanying video) are just one part of Nickels’s most recent album, which released in 2021.

After years of building up a following on social media and performing at local venues, Gordon has become one of New York City’s most popular and funniest comedians, getting featured on TV channels like Comedy Central and Adult Swim. He now seeks to voyage into new waters with his new album, including a single, ‘Planet of the Bass’, releasing August 22nd.

Irish Singer Holly Munro Releases Debut Single ‘Give Yourself Love’

Last week, on July 28th, Irish singer-songwriter Holly Munro released her debut single, the pop anthem titled ‘Give Yourself Love’, on all major streaming platforms. Sister to chart-topping Irish star duo Hudson Taylor, she toured with the two as a backup vocalist for some time, while also opening for the duo some nights, then took some time to work on her own music – with the fruits of that work showing itself in Munro’s latest single.
