‘Problems’, the new single by RockRackz, shines a spotlight on the artist as one who not only has musical talent, but also witty sense of humour.
Born in East Saint Louis and raised in nearby Madison, Illinois, RockRackz faced a tumultuous upbringing where he was constantly pushed to avoid the negative environments around him. He joined the US Army straight out of school, and ever since he’s been putting in the hard graft to achieve his dreams.
Now based in Nashville, RockRackz has set as his mission to reduce the violence associated with the hip hop genre, and he works tirelessly to ensure his message of honesty, integrity, and honour from the ground up. He’s doing this while developing his distinctive Trap Disco sound, which fuses streetwise sentiments with dance-ready melodies, getting everyone moving, no matter where they’re from.
His label, Erryday Entertainment, has become a full-fledged movement, with the current one-two punch singles, ‘Problems’ and the solution, ‘Icky’, coming ahead of the third song in the trilogy, the title track from his album, ‘Fly Awaaay’, which is set for release later this year.
The music video for ‘Problems’ sees him seeking relief from his troubles, and heading off to see a therapist, whereupon he encounters a waiting room which is filled with people, all equally as distressed as him.
He’s ranting, but the secretary is nonplussed, and offers him not just an appointment, but also a free lighter. As the track settles into its groove, it pauses, where we see RockRackz stepping into the therapist’s office to unload the constant problems of everyday that he hopes she can fix. A few seconds later and the music is back in motion, with RockRackz driving the point home with attitude, clarity, and a grin.
