Getting ahead of the Christmas rush, Ohio-based singer-songwriter Ozzie D has released three new festive videos, and we are proud to be premiering them on Essentially Pop.
Of course, Ozzie D doesn’t just create Christmas music; each track she releases has been created with intention, and she’s fused into every one her message of honesty, warmth, and heart.
First track, ‘Sent Down’, is an upbeat song with a jazzy rhythm reminiscent of the likes of Cab Calloway’s ‘Minnie The Moocher’. It comes with a lyric video illustrating the message of why Christ was sent to Earth, starting and ending with the Nativity, and including iconography, church scenes, and His death on the cross. The clip has been crafted with love and care, while Ozzie D’s infectious melodies will have you bopping about, while contemplating the message.
We follow this with, ‘Christmas Is Here’, and another lyric video, accompanying the upbeat rhythms of the song. The video shows the preparations for a bounteous Christmas feast, with all the family gathered together in celebration – food, presents, family, even Santa Claus. Ozzie D’s vocals are as joyous as the track itself, and the love can be felt in every frame.
Last, but not least, ‘PC Christmas’ serves as Ozzie D’s manifesto as much as anything else, and she lets us know everything she stands for, both in her music and personal life. Her hope with this song is to bring back the good natured Christmases from the past, the ones she remembers, and enjoyed celebrating when she was growing up – old-fashioned, and full of cheer. Like the rest of her songs, it’s replete with an upbeat musical rhythm that’s catchy and memorable, while Ozzie D shares her message, of not succumbing to the demands of society, or making compromises that go against her beliefs or the truths that she holds most dear. The lyric video that accompanies the track is bright and nostalgic, bringing with it the joy of those memorable times of the past.
