While he still may be just 20 years old, 4 YEARS LATER, aka Ben Heinze, from Atlanta, Georgia, is making some mighty waves in the music business with his new album, ‘Make Me Make Sense’. Released on the 22nd of August, the album is an introspective blend of pop and alternative music, shining a light on the fully relatable struggle to articulate ones emotions.
It seems almost counter-intuitive to think that communication is difficult in today’s world of social media and hyper-online lives, but so it is.
Feelings are always hard to express, with the battle between desperation and the unease of knowing you’ll regret it if you don’t say it.
4 YEARS LATER knows this struggle all too well, and he lays himself and his innermost thoughts bare in ‘Make Me Make Sense’, with song titles that covey as much meaning as the songs themselves, such as ‘A-Rate Loser’, and ‘I Don’t Dream Anymore’. It’s enticing and whimsical, with Heinze’s angst and anxiety almost palpable.
Written, recorded, and produced entirely in his home studio, ‘Make Me Make Sense’ had its genesis during the Covid-19 pandemic, when Heinze first started experimenting with GarageBand during isolation.
Although he had a background in piano playing, Heinze found his place in electronic music, and while it initially started out as a way by which to stay connected with his friends during this time, it’s since become a proper passion. ‘Make Me Make Sense’ is the culmination of it all.
‘Make Me Make Sense’ is out now, and is available to stream and download here. You can find out more about 4 YEARS LATER and his music online on Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music.
