With effortless ease, The Tano Jones Revelry taps into a sense of magic by staying true to the Americana troubadour tradition, while adding a sliver of rock ‘n’ roll, as well as some Midwest soul. The group came together in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, and while their music aims to reflect the feeling of being in the “middle of the storm”, they’ve since evolved to incorporate lively melodies and rhythms into their sound, with their mantra being that as humans, we should strive to help those we love get to a better place.
Setting up their Soup & Seeds Program, The Tano Jones Revelry aids the communities they visited on their radio tour, and hope to “throw their pebble in the pond to create ripples”, making a lasting impact on the communities that support them.
Inspiring and incredibly talented, The Tano Jones Revelry makes good on their promises to deliver with their music rhythm, life, melodies, tales, harmony, and love.
‘Light It’ is the latest release from the group, and shines a torch on the best part about falling in love: that moment when you feel like you could just explode with how much you feel for that person. It’s that moment in time when you realise that the “what ifs” you’ve been considering have suddenly become the “why nots”, and you are wanting to hitch your wagon to that other person, they mean everything in the world to you.
Tano Jones’ voice is soulful and emotive, with a poetic flair that works well with the melodic guitar strums, foot-tapping percussion, and backing vocals, provided by Jewel Tosha Owens. ‘Light It’ is more than just a romantic song, it also speaks to the soul, with its message of connecting with another on a human level – something we can all relate to.
The music video for ‘Light It’ tells the story of two people who find themselves fanning the sparks of their budding love on the shores of Lake Michigan. The visuals are soft and sensual – warm candlelight is paired with a dark, sensual ambience, and we see the lovers realise that they’re ready for whatever comes their way – so long as they’re together. It’s beautiful in more than just sound and images; it’s a deep realisation that we’re all capable of feeling such strong emotion.
