Beyond The Break – ‘Pictures of Losing Sleep’

Beyond The Break3

Beyond the Break is a hard rock supergroup from Llanelli, South Wales. Formed of members of Catatonia, 21 Against and Eleven they decided to come together in the Winter of 2015 to form a hard hitting rock hyper group with a link to 90’s grunge. Best described the band as a cross between the Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro, the band’s lineup comprises singer/guitarist Paul Jones, guitarist Richard Thomas-James, bassist Chris Francis and drummer Aled Richards.

‘Pictures of Losing Sleep’ is the title track from the band’s debut EP, which is out on September 4. It’s a mellow rock song, drum-led with some really guitar nice licks. Beyond the Break show their skill and cohesiveness as a band, with catchy lyrics such as, “I am where I am and all I can be, now this time is mine” conveying a powerful positive message.

The EP was recorded as a live performance direct to tape over the space of two weekends, and ‘The Way It Was’ was streamed over 25,000 times in the first 4 weeks of being put on Spotify. This popularity was based purely on the band only playing a handful of shows including a sold out hometown show in Llanelli and performing for the Foo Fighters fan club at the Foo’s Wembley pre-show party.

‘Pictures of Losing Sleep’ is available on 12” vinyl and digital download from their Bandcamp store from September 4.
