With his new single, ‘Like a Cadillac’, Eddy Puyol likens the vehicle, long a symbol of success and wealth in the US, to the blessings he’s received from God.
Sampling his own previous release, ‘Flossin’ Him’, Puyol takes the already upbeat and bouncy melody and refreshes it in ‘Like A Cadillac’, while at the same time imbuing it with further positive energy and authenticity, and reinforcing its classic hip-hop feel. He incorporates Bible verses and personal catchphrases he uses with family and friends in the track, further showcasing his gratitude to God for helping him overcome hardships, embrace a joyous life. As Puyol sings, “This is the day that the Lord has made so Imma rejoice and be glad in it.”
In the music video for ‘Like A Cadillac’, Puyol blends nostalgic hip-hop rhythms with modern production values, and we join him as he and his wife Corinne drive through Wynwood Florida’s stylish streets. The car, from Miami’s Magic City Classic Car Club, might be big and flashy, but to Eddy Puyol it’s a mark of celebration for overcoming challenges and emerging on the other side, stronger and richer for it all.
