UK Singer-Songwriter Rosalind Powell Takes Off On Her Latest Musical Venture With Album, ‘Sound Eagle’

Released on July 4th, ‘Sound Eagle’ is the latest addition to the discography of multifaceted musician and creator, Rosalind Powell.

The thirteen track album takes the listener on a journey through Powell’s mind, taking its form in a series of pop tracks, both infectious and catchy.

Taking inspiration from her home in West Wales, and the beauty of the landscape that surrounds her, Rosalind reflects her musical influences, which include Lana Del Rey, and Tori Amos. The piano parts of the songs (take note of the track, ‘God If You’re Listening To Me’) were first improvised by Rosalind at home before she moved onto the lyrics and melodies.

Speaking of the album, Rosalind Powell said,

I wanted to portray the feeling of Freedom like flowing water for my release.

Opening with powerful anthem, ‘Strong’, Powell’s voice conveys her faith and dedication to her craft. Tracks such as ‘Life’, are an upbeat contrast to the others, light and airy, while still bringing a strong message.

‘Sound Eagle’ is overall a testimony to Powell’s Christian faith, while at the same time providing a soundtrack that could easily lend itself to a theatre production. Each song is a showcase of her talent and passion, with highlights such as ‘The Edge’ giving listeners an understanding of the sheer depths of her musical talents.

Recorded at LTS Recording Studio in Llanon, South Wales, ‘Sound Eagle’ marks an incredible new chapter for Powell, who started her musical journey at just 5 years old, when she started learning classical piano.

From there she progressed to performing at Church, finding her music resonated with the listeners for its technical mastery, as well as spiritual grace. Following this Rosalind studied for a music degree, before releasing her debut album, ‘Circumference’.

New album ‘Sound Eagle’ is just the next step for Powell, who has a repertoire of more than 200 songs, and has already recorded her next album, ‘Dragonfly’.

‘Sound Eagle’ is out now, and is available to stream and download here. You can find out more about Rosalind Powell and her music online on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and her official website.
