The new single, ‘Make You Mine‘, from New York City band, The Infamous HER, is infectious and beguiling and a whole lot of fun, so naturally, we wanted to speak to the people behind the song.
Is this song based on a true story or a specific person?Â
This song is more about the need and want for something. Making it yours. “Some day you’ll be mine”. Could be a person, a dream, or just a good ol’ warm grilled cheese sandwich.
What inspired you to first start creating music?
I really can’t remember not creating music. Growing up in NYC, My dad’s an artist/musician and always had guitars lying around the house. I would watch him write songs, sing songs and I always joined in. I was that kid that had a plastic fisher price mic and stood in front of the mirror singing and dancing. I dressed up as Madonna for halloween when i was 6, i picked up and taught myself guitar when i was around 12 years old and played my first gig at CBGB’s when i was 13.
Was music always your first passion in life?Â
Music was my only passion, oh and rescuing animals.
If you could collaborate with any other music artist in the world, who would it be? And why?Â
That’s a tough one. How about I spend the weekend jamming with the The Stones in Jamaica, Spend a night on tour with The Clash, Spend a day in the studio with Shania Twain and Mutt Lange, and a candlelit evening sipping red wine and writing poetry with Bob Dylan.Â
If you were about to play your music for the first time for someone, what would you tell them to expect?Â
It’s Rock n Roll baby, Expect the unexpected.
What is the number one message that you try to express to your fans in your music?Â
Be free, have fun, and speak your mind.
Is there a certain type of energy or feeling that you try to show in your music?Â
I “go there”. I like to write songs with no boundaries, walls, rules or laws.
What do you have planned for the future in 2024? Any new songs or albums that you are hoping to release soon?Â
We have 2 more singles besides the current single ‘Make You Mine’ coming out. ‘Dare Me’ and ‘Hula Hoop’ and then our full album drops June 28th titled ‘Hula Hoop’. We will be touring in Europe promoting the new album in summer and fall, so catch us at a show or on our socials.
