Ron Brunk Takes A Dark, All Too Real Look At Modern America With ‘Nothing’

Ron Brunk returns with his no-nonsense observations with ‘Nothing’, his look at modern America. It’s dark, with a wry humour that nonetheless conveys his message exceptionally well. There’s also a stark black and white video to go with it.

Taken from his new minimalist album, ‘HIGH ON LOFI’, nothing is Ron Brunk’s stand out track, which takes a deep dive into the current state of the world. We’ve got a world that’s being torn apart and a public that’s being more and more dumbed down, and so Brunk’s approach is to share his observations, critiques, and advice, from a perspective of common sense, something that is often hard to find in this day and age.

Brunk takes a bit of a nihilist stance with the track, with lines such as, “You carry a chip on your shoulder, and another one under your skin”, drawing attention to the cluelessness of many people today who are blissfully walking around oblivious to what’s actually going on in the world around them. The music is Dylanesque (vocals too, to an extent) with Brunk accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and a hand held drum, while standing in a clearing in wood, in the middle of a snowstorm. Produced by legendary music producer Paul Allen, Brunk delivers his message with a certainty not often seen in this day’s music.
