Stringz EMB Is Feeling ‘Hijacked’ With New Single

St Louis R&B and Soul singer Stringz EMB knows what it’s like to be ‘Hijacked’ in love – that state of mind where you’re taken out of time, you can’t get back into normality until the feeling stops. Coincidentally, that’s also the name of his latest single.

The track comes with a music video, directed by Stringz EMB himself, shot on a starkly gorgeous snow-covered mountain in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. The clip serves as the perfect visual metaphor for Stringz EMB’s tormented soul, and it’s a stunning location as well.

We’ve written a lot about Stringz EMB and his music in recent years, and ‘Hijacked’ is just the latest proof of his incredible ability to channel and communicate complicated emotions through his songwriting. While ‘Hijacked’ isn’t strictly a love song, it’s also not quite a confession, nor is it a come-on. Rather, it’s a combination of all three, while describing that particular state of mind; we’ve probably all experienced it, even if we’ve been at a loss to define it completely. With Stringz’ vocals, impassioned and soulful one minute, distant and icy the next, he manages to fit so much meaning and implication into this three-minute pop song.

Of course, there’s still plenty of shots of St Louis in the video for ‘Hijacked’ – it could be said that he’s most in love with his home city over anyone else and it’s there where he’s most at ease. This is reflected in the clip – when he’s in St Louis – with his lover – he’s definitely at home; when he’s in the mountain cabin, he’s frozen – by himself.
