We’re back with Elrey James (aka George Castrinos), this time with frontwoman Alexa Robinson; together they are The Robinson James Band, and their song, ‘Spoonful’, is their take on Willie Dixon’s classic blues hit of the same name.
A chance meeting when Alexa Robinson rented George Castrinos’ (Elrey James) recording studio, became the basis of a great musical partnership. The pair formed a powerful music duo and they certainly rock out on stage together with new single, ‘Spoonful’, and additionally, they’ve also built a life together outside of music. The chemistry between the duo is evident, and each song they perform is a unique listening experience, with Robinson’s powerhouse soul vocals converging with Castrinos’s expressive lead guitar runs.
‘Spoonful’ is their debut single, and it’s certainly a great place to start. Covered by the likes of artists ranging from Etta James to Cream, in the hands of The Robinson James Band it’s been given a more modern flair, with Alexa’s sultry vocals perfectly attuned to Castrinos’ wailing guitar. It’s a tangible illustration of absolute yearning and desire.
The music video for ‘Spoonful’ takes us into the studio in about as up close and personal an experience we could ever hope for. The talented creatives rock out with their equally talented band, in a performance that will excite you for their live stage performances.
