ALYKXX is a hip hop star whose sound has taken him all over the world. Born in Jamaica and raised in New York City, ALYKXX moved to LA where he joined Salt-N-Pepa on tour, learning how to run a long-term hip-hop and dance music career. He landed in London, England, for a time, where he absorbed a more international sound. ALYKXX’s new club banger, VIBE’ has been getting plenty of airplay on Miami’s 103.5 The Beat and is set to take over the world. ALYKXX spits out his requirements for a great night out, layered over a fat block of 808s, courtesy of producer K Quick. We’re lulled into a false sense of security in the first minute, before the song takes it up a notch with a heavier club vibe, including shrieking synths and thrumming beats. Likewise, ALYKXX takes it up a level, his bars coming out staccato style with an impressive flow.
The music video for ‘VIBE’, directed by Orin, keeps up the pace as well, as it follows ALYKXX as he transitions from a rum-imbibing janitor at a Brooklyn boxing gym into club god, dripping with Gucci, surrounded by followers and his Mercedes Benz.
