Australia’s Rhythm King, AKoVA Releases The Very Stirring ‘Please Move’ Single And Video

An artist inspired by the likes of singer songwriters such as Donovan, and Bob Dylan, AKoVA uses music as a healing tool. Based on Australia’s Gold Coast, AKoVA says, “You either get bitter, or you get better”, and his new single, ‘Please Move’ certainly should be considered as such, along with the gorgeous accompanying music video.

Digging deep within, and pulling up every emotion he can grab hold of, AKoVA knows how to affect the hearts and minds of his listeners. Speaking of his music, he says, My proudest moment was to hear from a lady that told me my lyrics had stopped her husband from suicide.” His beautiful words and music speak to everyone.

“My philosophy,” says Akova, “is to take positive steps and move forward. Find things that you love and do more of that. It’s about being happy. Happiness should be more than a fleeting moment.” He says. “We all deserve to be happy.”

The music video for ‘Please Move’ is just as stunning as the song itself. Feeling at times like an oil painting come to life, a woman is submerged in a deep pool of water, as if drowning. She is joined by a man who seems to be there to rescue her – but ultimately she needs to find her own way, so she rejects him. Matched note for note by AKoVA’s stirring vocals, acoustic guitar, and synths, the beautiful reds and blues of the couple’s clothing are as poignant as the music itself.

“I draw inspiration from my heart,” says AKoVA. “Many years ago, I started a journey, going from living with your head to living with your heart.” The video for ‘Please Move’, is certainly the perfect illustration for AKoVA’s spiritual journey.
