There’s Going To Be A ‘Shake Down’ In Alicia G’s New Single

Although Alicia G looks every bit a southern belle, she was born and raised in upstate New York. Her time on the national pageant circuit, however, exposed her to the cultural nuances of the South, and spending a lot of time in the countryside saw her also pick up the accent.

Alicia G first entered the spotlight of her music career with her 2015 single, ‘Pretty Girl’, an electropop track that saw her combine her love for country with the style of New York’s music scene, creating a sound influenced by pop and rap. That track was followed by back-to-back hits, ensuring Alicia G had a loyal fanbase of more than 3 million on the streaming app, Bigo Live. Since then she has been signed as an influencer on the new app, MICO WORLD, where she livestreams as AliciaGWorld. With her cowboy hat perched atop her blonde hair, Alicia G is well on her way to shaping a new wave of country-pop.

Alicia G’s new single, ‘Shake Down’, sees her sing about the free-spirited life of a country girl, with her catchy lyrics and an infectious chorus. The accompanying music video shows the artist as she goes about her new favourite hobby, equestrianism, which she took up a few months ago. The clip captures the essence of the South, centring on a laid back attitude, good times, and great food. Alicia G is shown riding through the farm on her horse and having fun at a friendly gathering, and ‘Shake Down’ serves to highlight her incredible talents in all areas of her life.
