Indie Rock Legends Greg Hoy & The Boys Wow Us With Latest Release, ‘Jet Black, Get Back’

Greg Hoy has dominated the indie rock scene for over two decades, and made a dent in our pages here too in recent years. He’s conquered the four corners of the music industry as well, being an experienced songwriter, producer, indie label owner, multi-instrumentalist, and singer – just to name a few strings to his bow. On top of all that, he hosts his own podcast, ‘Limited Mileage’, which sees him connect and chat with other artists about their music, and their journeys in life.

It’s hard to think when such a busy man has time to deliver world class hits, but deliver them he does, and with his current band, “The Boys”, his latest release, ‘Jet Black, Get Back’, has dropped in time for their Build Back Bitter tour, which started on May 1.

The song is so much more than a hype track for the tour though; it’s full of what makes rock and roll great, such as heavy guitar riffs and driving drum backbeats, along with a catchy melody that captivates listeners from the get go, no matter whether they’re rock fans or not. The tuneful melody will get you up out of your seat with a strong desire to sing and dance – and of course, that’s what Greg was aiming for.
The music video for ‘Jet Black, Get Back!’ sees Hoy and his band in the studio, full of energy and excitement, as they record the song. We have a fly on the wall view as we see all the fun and natural moments between Greg and his band, doing what they love best. The spontaneity of the instrumentalists is evident as they start the song, and Hoy’s performance is a true embrace of his talent and enthusiasm. If you can’t get to see Greg Hoy & The Boys on tour, then let this be a suitable substitute. If you can, then enjoy it as a foretaste!
