It’s like ‘Harper Valley PTA’ rewritten for a new generation, as she blends sharp social commentary with genuine affection for the community that inspired her.
This is all brought to vivid neon life in the music video, capturing the spirit of the song’s playful commentary. Set inside a busy honky-tonk, viewers are immediately caught up in the world where the three roads of faith, temptation, and gossip meet. Friends gather around the bar in front of a stage where Wilson performs, and the video follows a Bible-thumping patron who spends the night gambling, drinking, and eventually getting into a dust-up, leading to the final scene, where, next morning, he’s about to pour out his heart in a church confessional. As he offers a half-hearted apology to his Lord, he ends with a casual, “Alright, see you next Sunday”, perfectly capturing the song’s message.
