Allbrook Station Channel The Music They Grew Up Loving With Debut Single, ‘Chimerical’

Standing as a symbol of honest to goodness rock and roll, Allbrook Station are a group of like-minded friends, and with their debut single, ‘Chimerical’, they came together with a vision to create great music.

Allbrook Station is an American pop rock band formed in 2024, formed in Salt Lake City, Utah consisting of lead singer Burke Louis, bassist Jessie Gomez, drummer Nate Smeding, and guitarists Randy Slaugh, and Jr “Frank Zoo” Gomez. Additionally, Randy Slaugh is a GRAMMY-nominated, Billboard #1 music producer and composer.

Allbrook Station channel the likes of Linkin Park, and Imagine Dragons, among many other artists they grew up listening to and loving, and they’ve taken this inspiration and crafted their very own arena-ready take on rock, with all the urgency and presence of these decades-established bands. Debut single, ‘Chimerical’, tells a tale of love that is not only impossible, but it’s also destructive to the point of ruination. It’s raw and compelling, with the guitars, drums, and atmospheric production giving the track a moody vibe that makes it hard to work out where exactly it sits on the spectrum of pop/rock/metal genres.

There’s a vulnerability to Burke Louis’s voice, which is somehow also defiant, as he realises, in the words of co-writer Jessie Gomez, “something that could be perfect, never will be”. Singing of a relationship that is toxic, and unravelling, Louis describes it as the “tiresome illusion of forgiving the same mistakes over and over again”. The love was never real, and as it fades away, the narrator is desperate to claw back his time, peace, and purpose – “You put me through hell just to watch me burn,” and, “Get used to this life alone”.

Not only is ‘Chimerical’ the band’s debut single release, but it’s also their debut music video. We are introduced to Allbrook Station with a fully immersive, almost cinematic experience, with dynamic camera work, and striking atmospherics, right from the get-go.

Starting with text on the screen, asking, “Do you believe a person can save themselves?”, answered by “Depends on which self they’re willing to fight for…”, and then, “and which one they’re willing to let go”. We see the band, as they stand around a pod, which is revealed to contain Burke Louis. The band then perform, completely lost in the moment and the music. As the refrain, “can you feel it?” the whites of each band member’s eyes vanish. Louis, stuck in the pod, finally opens his eyes, and realises the hell he’s been through. He’s no longer captive, he’s breaking free, no longer a prisoner of love.
