EMMALISA is able to capture the true essence of ‘Hollywood’, giving it an even more glamorous treatment than the original, with all the excitement and fantasy we’ve come to associate with Hollywood itself. Set against a thumping drumbeat and a ramped up instrumental, EMMALISA’s vocals are allowed to soar, while the song itself retains a lot of the nostalgic vibes of the early 2000s original.
The release of ‘Hollywood’ comes ahead of EMMALISA’s next big adventure, which sees her travelling to Los Angeles to take the next step in her musical career. Professionally recorded and produced in the UK by Lostchild, ‘Hollywood’ was then sent back to Australia where Perth-based engineer Darryn Ball mixed and mastered it.
EMMALISA has released music as an independent artist for the past five years, and her extensive back-catalogue sees her successfully tackle a wide array of genres including dance-pop, contemporary pop and dark pop/ALT. Her sound is unapologetically feminine, while at the same time showing that it’s possible to remain aspirational.
