The lyrics and melody for ‘Are You Ready For Your Blessing’ were revealed to him by God in a dream, and now Augusta based artist, Mack Holland wants to share this message with the rest of us.
While the song was still playing in his head, Mack grabbed his tape recorder, and got it all down. What he found was God’s finger was pointing at him, and he needed to write this powerful piece of music, in particular for those searching for faith.
Mack Holland’s wish for his music and videos is that his listeners feel God’s presence, and that the world will come together in prayer. He says, “Be sincere with God and he will be sincere with you. Trust in him, treat everyone the way you want to be treated and God will acknowledge you. The key word is sincerity. You can’t fool God about anything.”
Mack Holland’s musical journey started in his childhood, while singing in neighbourhood groups in his hometown of Aiken, South Carolina. He started exploring writing poetry as a teenager, and soon caught the attention of A&R representatives, who took him to Nashville, Tennessee, where he was encouraged to record his poetry as songs.
Collaborating with Paramount Studios, Holland recorded ‘Your Love Is A Thrill’, ‘Love Me Now’, ‘All In My Mind’, ‘I Once Had You’, and ‘I Ain’t Got No Money Honey’. Then, in 2017, he had an encounter with God, and set about the new challenge of writing Gospel music.
Mack Holland’s ‘Are You Ready For Your Blessing’ is upbeat and powerful, and so required a music video that was its equal. Opening with cotton-wool like clouds, and shots overhead of sparkling oceans, as well as fluttering seagulls, this lyric video serves as a fitting complement to the song. We see Holland preaching to his audience with ease and confidence, dancing and praising, and walking up a flight of stairs, as if he is ascending to heaven.
