Volkan Iz Bursts Onto The Scene With Debut Single, ‘Geisha’

Written in just one day, ‘Geisha’ is a modern disco-inspired dance track, while being deeply personal to the artist, Volkan Iz.

Vibrant and upbeat, ‘Geisha’ was a collaboration that took the track around the world. The music and arrangement are the creation of Serbian producer Nikola Drobnjak, while the track was composed by Mexican artist Dario Medina, and furthermore, mixed and mastered by German-Turkish engineer Furkan Gulus. Additionally, the accompanying music video was edited by Indian producer Hemu Sharmaa. The track itself was recorded at Bursa Ross Studio in Turkey, taking nearly a year to reach perfection.

Rising singer-songwriter Volkan Iz sees ‘Geisha’ as a representation of his hopes and determination. While in the song he’s searching for the perfect partner, it can also be seen as a metaphor about his dreams for his music career. Volkan started his musical journey while still in secondary school, which was followed by training in three prestigious music academies. His music is mostly dance-inspired, but overall Volkan is open to exploring a range of styles.

“Volkan” translates into a range of languages as meaning “fire”, and his stage name represents the passion which he imbues in everything he does.

‘Geisha’ is out now, and is available to stream and download here. You can find out more about Volkan Iz and his music online on Instagram. You can watch the music video for ‘Geisha’ below.
