Amrit Ghatore channels deep longing and self reflection with his new single, ‘If We Tried’. The acoustic pop ballad was released on November 22, and is available to stream and download here.
With a gorgeously powerful vocal set against a minimal piano arrangement, ‘If We Tried’ manages to capture the deep and emotional sentiment of looking at the “what ifs” in pursuing a relationship. Too often we find excuses not to seek the happiness we long for; ‘If We Tried’ instead examines what would happen if instead we went for it, and tried.
The track is accompanied by a music video, which focuses on a couple who are contemplating taking that next step. Set against a smokey backdrop, the pair are sitting at a table against a window, while their whole lives are held in the balance. They could stay seated in the hazy uncertainty, or instead take a leap of faith into the bright unknown. Interspersed within are clips of Amrit at the piano, illustrating his talent on the instrument, while the hands of the couple edge towards each other, yet unable to take that final step. He is alone at the very end, surrounded by the smokey haze.
Amrit Ghatore started using songwriting from an early age as a means by which to reflect on his thoughts and emotions, along the way refining both his voice and lyrical approach, resulting in a sound that is not only rich with introspective storytelling, but also contains warm acoustic vibes. His musical journey has seen Amrit travel through a range of genres, from future bass to the heartfelt simplicity of acoustic ballads, such as ‘If We Tried’, seeing him gain recognition on BBC’s spotlight. Following a four year hiatus from music, Amrit returns with an emboldened approach to his style, which sees him explore themes of spirituality and personal development, as well as love, yearning, and faith, ensuring his songs will find an audience able to relate to what he is saying.
