‘AMF’ sees Flau’jae commemorate both sides of her life, rap star on one, and college basketball star on the other.
Released a day after her team the LSU Tigers defeated Middle Tennessee, and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the 2024 Women’s March Madness tournament, ‘AMF’ sees Flau’jae collaborate with platinum certified rapper, the Memphis-based NLE Choppa. ‘AMF’ stands for “ain’t my fault”, and Flau’jae celebrates her success, while at the same time dismisses any issues people may have with her. It’s the perfect follow on to her previous single, ‘Perfect Timing’, and is the payoff to all the hard work she’s put in, both on the court and in the recording studio. ‘AMF’ is also an homage to her late father, the rapper Camoflauge, who, although she never met him, she knows would be proud of all she’s achieved to date.
The music video for ‘AMF’ sees Flau’jae working with her regular collaborators, 20K Visuals, and shows her becoming the life of a college house party. Guests start coming to the house, many showing off expensive cars as they arrive, and once indoors, are treated to a performance by Flau’jae and NLE Choppa. The viewer feels they’re right in there with the party guests, grinding and twerking, enjoying everything and taking part in the celebrations.
