Duprai Marcel Is Longing For A Loving Connection In New Single, ‘My Baby’

With just a few elements, including a simple guitar riff, piano, and some hand-produced percussion, ‘My Baby’ sees Duprai Marcel tell a multi-layered story, producing so much power with his small instrumental and vocal group that the listener is able to feel every emotion he is feeling.

Duprai wears himself out to exhaustion trying to ensure his relationship remains buoyant, but his partner isn’t quite as helpful. While he’s absolutely enamoured of her, he despairs that she doesn’t want to treat him in the same way. He questions why he’s committed to this relationship, when the same isn’t returned, but the mysteriousness of the object of his affections just makes all the more keen.

The video for ‘My Baby’, shot in black and white, plays out like a film noir detective story. Following the murder of a young woman. Duprai tries to piece together the accusations and suspects. A beautiful woman, the lead singer of the “Kit Katt Club”, has a number of love interests including a mayor and a mobster. She shares intimate moments with both men, with dances and drinks, only to be mysteriously killed. Duprai has to discover the killer through the evidence put before him.
