While you’re in the midst of it, every passing day is enriched, but when a relationship reaches a bitter end, it instead leaves behind the taste of betrayal, along with a broken heart. APROPOS’s new single, ‘Heartbreak’ examines the choice to build that connection with another person, knowing that despite it being irresponsible and detrimental, the heart wants what it wants, and can’t be held back.
In ‘Heartbreak’, APROPOS follows the desire for an everlasting bond while being held back by hesitation, knowing full well that those dreamy days could soon become long nights of regret. While the thought process tries to slow any decision-making before damage is done, nonetheless the idea of love takes over, and all such ideas go out the window.Â
The music video, produced alongside Jake Bass, sees APROPOS exemplify the sensation of love. He goes about his routine daily tasks, but suddenly, we see, with the lens of the camera along with his eyes, his focus move onto a beautiful woman. Every aspect of his life thereafter revolves around her, and wherever she goes, he’s there following, with the hope that love will soon come along as well. He even takes it far enough that both their lives are at risk; clearly this results in chaos. ‘The trajectory of his life is completely flipped, and begins revolving his every move around her. Wherever she is, he is sure to follow in hopes that they can fall in love. He goes as far as risking both of their lives to guarantee this partnership, only resulting in spiraling chaos. ‘Heartbreak’ shows that while love has many outcomes, not all of them are good.
