Johnny PE Is ‘Somehow’ Pushing Everyday With His Music

Johnny PE was told by his brother he had a great voice, and should get into music. The seeds had already been planted when his father, an R&B singer in the 70s, played him Michael Jackson’s ‘Rock With You’, so he dropped his former alias, Johnny Phrank, and rebranded, with the “PE” standing for “Pushing Everyday”.

Johnny’s a hardworking family man, and his children are his inspiration and one of his greatest motivators. His son appears with him in the music video for ‘Somehow’, and he makes a point of never missing his daughter’s basketball games.

Johnny’s passion is also God, for whom he gives the credit for the strength to keep doing what he loves. He met his current producer, MCV, who’s done incredible work with Megan Thee Stallion, through fate and great A&R, and their collaborations are on the up and up.

‘Somehow’ was Johnny’s big breakout single, and the video, with 117K views on YouTube so far, shows him singing about difficult relationships. With lyrics such as “I gotta get away even though I miss you”, Johnny shows that “in life, in tough situations, you have to adapt as best you can”.

The trap beat thumps like a heartbeat, as Johnny sings about still wishing the very best for the other person in the relationship. It’s a song which clearly resonates strongly with fans, and the comments on the video are testimony to just how much they can relate.
