The Real Meladee Knows What’s Hot With New Hip Hop Single And Video, ‘Birkin’

Hermes Birkin bags have been the ultimate must have stylish accessory for forty years or so now. Not only does a Birkin look great, but it’s also bright, eye-catching, and complements any outfit. No two are truly alike, they’re all hand-crafted and reflect their own personality. Much of the same things could be said for The Real Meladee. Her new single, ‘Birkin’, shows just how confident, fresh, and on point she is – just like the bag she’s rapping about.

‘Birkin’ follows on from ‘Set The Tone’, and both extends and deepens the mood established by that track. With a thunderous kick drum, skittering snares, and synths that pound deep into your soul, The Real Meladee delivers her bars with a magnetism that’s unmatched: dreamy, breathy vocals, that exude confidence.

The music video for ‘Birkin’, made by frequent Slip N Slide collaborator, Counterpoint 2.0, delivers a high energy clip, that’s as glittering and gorgeous as Meladee herself. Money is everywhere: she fans herself with a massive wad of 20s, and lays back on a carpet of them. Nothing is left to the imagination – the stores, the cars, the clothes and jewellery are all top flight and work well in this celebration of conspicuous consumption. But then – there is the Birkin bag. Made of leather, tinted with yellow, and trimmed in gold, it’s smart and stunning, and befitting a queen like The Real Meladee.
