New Artist Waymi’s Debut Single ‘Calling’ Leaves Listeners Wanting More

Out today, 29 June, and available to stream and download here, ‘Calling’ is the debut single from exciting new Nigerian artist, Waymi.

Fusing a blend of Afropop and dance elements, ‘Calling’ takes in aspects of romance, mysticism, and tranquility, as it tells a heartfelt love story.

Listeners will be transfixed by the how Waymi, real name Glory Agbebaku, soulfully expresses his emotions, in lyrics like,

“You see the way you talk / The way you smile on top / You gat the vibe i want / you gat the vibe i want / I like the way you talking / The way you smile dey burst my / na only you I want.

Recorded in Waymi’s home, ‘Calling’ was mixed and mastered at the Spyritmix studios in Lagos, Nigeria. With standout elements such as the live saxophone, ‘Calling’ has a real summer flavour that will be the perfect addition to any playlist.

Waymi’s love for music began in his high school days, where he would memorise entire songs before performing them to his friends and classmates. He pursued a career in international relations, and even dabbled as a personal trainer, but his desire for a music career was always there, and so with his first release, ‘Calling’, he is set to take on the world, and make an impression that transcends borders and cultures.
