Set for release this Friday, June 9, ‘Groove’ is the new single from Berlin-based Australian artist, Gary Sebastian.
Also known as Gaz Mo, Gary came up withe retro-sounding upbeat pop track after a night out clubbing. The lyrics reflect the feeling of the events that took place throughout the night, and he wrote the song in one day. Later, when Gary met producer Jonathan Edwards, the track was given new life, as the pair worked on it together, bringing to it a distinct feel that combines pop, disco, and funk, and jazz. ‘Groove’ feels destined to be a summer club smash!
Originally from Melbourne, Australia, but now based in Berlin, Germany, Gary Sebastian has been making music since he was a teenager, but had more than a decade’s hiatus since his last release. Now he’s back and aims to set the summer on fire and re-ignite his fans with his bold performances and distinctive sound. Earlier this year Gary released three “unplugged” songs on streaming platforms, to much acclaim from both fans and critics.
Gary’s musical journey began at a young age, with his grandmother and mother recognising his talent, and encouraging him by entering him into competitions, and getting him involved in the choir at church. He’s performed in musicals, such as Jesus Christ Superstar, and was a special guest on radio station RRR 102.7FM in Melbourne, where he was interviewed and performed. Gary and his band have played around the world, including Berlin and London, as well as Melbourne.
Speaking about his music, Gary said,
“My passion and love for music have taken me on an incredible journey. I’ve learned invaluable lessons, met immensely talented individuals, and I am grateful that my music can bring joy, happiness, and a sense of belonging to those who need it out there”.
