Mike Stinson & Johnny Irion Are Having A Rocking Good Time With New Single And Video, ‘The Bottle & Me’

Taken from their album, ‘Working My Way Down’, released via Blackwing Music, ‘The Bottle & Me’ is the new single from Mike Stinson and Johnny Irion. The track also features a great music video showing them in action in the recording studio.

‘The Bottle & Me’ is a retro style rock track that will call to mind the likes of Status Quo and others of that era. There’s also some strong country elements, and all in all, it’s a whole lot of fun.

Stinson and Irion started writing together back in the 90s, in a farmhouse situated behind a rehearsal studio known as The Alley, in the San Fernando Valley of California. When they performed together they were joined on stage by Andy Jones, who was Mike’s partner in his job, as well as his running buddy. Andy was best known for his LA prog rock band, Bigelf, and he brought a certain something to Johnny and Mike’s lineup.

Sadly, Andy died, and life got in the way of the band – marriage, moving – but Johnny and Mike kept in touch and now they’ve finally put the album together they said they’d always make. 11 tracks recorded by the trio back in the day feature on ‘Working My Way Back Down’, and it’s clear from songs such as ‘The Bottle & Me’ that the vocal chemistry that was there all those years ago is certainly still there. Think of the partnership between the Quo’s Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi, and you get some idea of what to expect.

Watch the video below and you will see Stinson and Irion playing in the studio, working together like a well-oiled machine. Their talent and commitment to their craft is evident, and they’re giving their all – -with glorious results.
