Out on July 9, ‘Esencia’ is the new single from Alex Youshi. The Mexican artist describes the song as a “game of emotions, channeling love, nostalgia, euphoria, admiration and gratitude”. Alex Youshi’s voice is soft, and mellifluous, and serves as the perfect accompaniment to the piano-led instrumental.
‘Esencia’ is the Spanish word for “Essence”, and while the entire track is sung in that language, Alex Youshi is well able to convey the emotion and sentiment to every listener, regardless of what language they understand.
Originally from Veracruz, on the Gulf of Mexico, Alex Youshi has since moved inland to Puebla, in order to follow his dreams of a career in music. He refuses to limit himself to simply one genre, and rather, allows himself to try out whatever sounds he likes. Alex Youshi started writing songs at the age of 14, following this up by his first single, which he recorded at the age of 17. Alex Youshi is an exciting up and coming artist, and definitely one to watch.
