Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag: I Am Legend Is On ‘Top Of The World’ With New Pop Dance Single

Rising R&B, pop, and hip-hop artist I Am Legend was pretty much born with music in his blood, having grown up watching his mother perform in the church choir. As soon as he was able to, he started singing himself, with his mother serving as his greatest inspiration, role model, and guide, when it came to all things vocal. His latest release, ‘Top Of The World’, is a reflection of his lifelong goal to make a name for himself in music – and it’s just the latest in a long line of tracks that have resonated well with his ever-expanding fanbase.

I Am Legend debuted in 2020 with his track, ‘Roller Coaster’, and he quickly followed it up with the hits, ‘Get It Up’, ‘HEART BROKEN’, and ‘OUU AHH YEA’.

‘Top Of The World’ carries with it the premise that we mustn’t let anyone tell us what we can and cannot do; including our own self. It’s by listening to his mother’s encouragement, and following his own advice that I Am Legend has managed to grow his musical career. He started to take his music seriously over the past 2 years, and the result is his adoring audience.

In the video for ‘Top Of The World’, we see I Am Legend singing and dancing with model, Leslie Zulay. We’re hooked right from the start, as he connects with the viewer, beyond the camera lens. I Am Legend references James Brown with lyrics “Papa’s got a brand new bag” and “It’s a man’s world”, the title of two of the legendary artist’s songs, and indeed, someone who knew what it was like to be on top of the world. It’s a simple clip, just I Am Legend and Leslie in an open studio space, but it’s super effective, with I Am Legend’s charisma oozing out of every frame.
