Mirror Mirror: Belle VEX Wants To Know Who’s The Fairest Of Them All With Latest Release, ‘Mirror’

We’ve written a lot about Belle VEX over the years, and we’re really happy to bring his new single, ‘Mirror’, to Essentially Pop.

Relationships can destabilise; you get so intensely involved and desperate for that other person that you become someone completely unrecognisable to yourself. Belle VEX knows this feeling, and he captures it perfectly in ‘Mirror’, doing it with compassion and the emotional intensity that his fans have come to know and love. The Connecticut singer songwriter is able to brilliantly convey his distress and confusion, and does it by way of not just formidable vocal prowess, but also a new musical style, different to the instruments he usually uses. Fans will be accustomed to his synths and electronic stylings, but for ‘Mirror’ he has instead chosen to arrange it using acoustic guitar, which gives his always stunning voice an anthemic element, as it soars heavenward, supported by the music.

The synths are still there, but they are a secondary consideration, with the focus on the man and his guitar.

Similarly, the video for ‘Mirror’ is stripped back and straightforward, primarily Belle VEX, his guitar, and a mirror, sitting in his bedroom. He’s later seen singing outside his apartment building, the glass windows cleverly serving as a mirror as they cast his reflection. Vulnerable, and almost scared, Belle VEX lets us into his thoughts, and shows us that he’s gone through the same experiences we all have.

Watch the video for ‘Mirror’ below, and follow Belle VEX online on his official website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
