Amie K returns with the live sessions from her 2021 EP, ‘Solas’. The release, recorded by Danny Kitainik of Serenity Audio, is accompanied by videos for each song, filmed by Che Deedigan.
Amie K is captured in all her magical glory in this live sessions EP, which comes after the artist successfully performed in Liverpool with her full band. Fans will already be familiar with Amie’s ethereal yet lush vocals, which draw as much from folk music as they do the pop-country notes of her instrumentals; now they have the chance to experience an intimate concert performance as Amie draws more deeply into her songs.
The live EP features new arrangements of the tracks on ‘Solas’, adding extra layers to the existing songs, as she teams up with Sarah Sands, Jack O’Hanlon, Leo Kitainik, and Jen Morgan. There’s a guest vocal on ‘Sunflowers’ from Alicia Kitainik, the stunning sibling harmonies bringing with them the much-missed feeling of summer, giving us the feeling that warmer days are finally on their way.
The beautifully produced videos, shot in sepia tones, bring out even more warmth to the music, as the camera focuses on each musician in turn, while never once losing sight of the fact it’s Amie’s record.
Perhaps the highlight of the EP – out of 5 incredible tracks – is song 5, ‘Evergreens’, featuring the vocals of all members of the band, accompanied by Amie on guitar.
