Jake Clemons releases music video of his interpretation of the classic song ‘Democracy’ by Leonard Cohen.
‘Democracy’ is a powerfully executed song in which the political meaning is just as relevant today as it was when it was originally released in 1992. In his version, Clemons has completely re-vamped and modernised the classic yet still keeping its strong message.
The track was co-produced by Clemons himself alongside Jake Hull and was mixed by award-winning producer Eddie Kramer. ‘Democracy’ is a song that will feature on his upcoming album, ‘Eyes on the Horizon’, set to be released in September 2019.
Back in 2013, Clemons released his debut EP, ‘Embracing Lights’, which was followed by his full-length album ‘Fear + Love’ a few years later in 2017. This was where we were able to catch a glimpse of what Clemons had to offer and able to deeply connect with his music.
Over the last 7 years, Clemons has been the tenor and baritone saxophonist with Bruce Springsteen’s E street band after taking over from his late uncle Clarence Clemons. On top of this, he also spends his time touring the world and performing his own music.
