Born and raised in New York and performing as Feyer, Andrew Feyer has had a long past with music, having started with piano lessons before moving onto songwriting, and playing with various bands. He started recording and producing in his bedroom, where he developed his own style, and, in addition to working with other musicians, he also scores for film and video games. Feyer’s style is difficult to classify, but the hey elements are theatrical lyrics, electronic rock production, and a merging of futuristic and retro sounds. His latest track, ‘Stuck In A Video Game’ is accompanied by a music video which has been produced and animated by Aqueous Animation.
With inspirations including David Bowie, Queen, and Talking Heads, you can get some idea of what Feyer’s sound might be like. He believes that music should

Feyer has seen his music recognised by the likes of Buzzfeed, AXS, and Popdust, and says that his favourite part of the process, is watching the final product come alive during a show. His debut album, ‘Signals Internalized’, released in early 2017, was described “thought provoking and risk taking”. Feyer mostly performs in New York’s underground venues, such as the Knitting Factory, and Arlene’s Grocery, but he has big touring plans lined up for this coming summer.
The music video for ‘Stuck In A Video Game’, analyses the latter day obsession with technology. Feyer is transformed into a video game character, and struggles to complete each level; when he does, he finds another challenge he has to overcome. The video takes a dark concept, and twists it into humour, while showing that humans don’t have enough skills to improve our lives, because we’re too caught up focusing on our screens. “Is life just all about leveling up?” is the question Feyer asks. Are we so focused on tech and instant success that we are, actually, stuck in a video game?
