If you’re unfamiliar with X Ambassadors, we recommend you make your acquaintance pronto with the trio from Ithaca, New York. Their new long player, ‘ORION’, is only the second studio album from the band on the KIDinaKORNER/Interscope label, but it’s already making an impact with the single releases, ‘Boom’, ‘Hey Child’, and ‘Hold You Down’, as well as the recent track, ‘Confidence’, featuring K.Flay.
New York born, LA based pop-soul singer MAAD is also a DJ as well as a recording artist, which is reflected in her sound, which while contemporary, contain homages to the legendary sisters of the past, such as Donna Summer, and Diana Ross. Her new single, ‘BAAD’, is a high-octane RnB/pop piece, with a clip as “BAAD” as the song itself.
Following her incredibly stunning performance at the Billboard Music Awards and the announcement of her highly anticipated new album ‘Madame X’ available globally on June 14, Madonna, Live Nation and Maverick have announced a series of rare and intimate performances to take place exclusively in theatres, giving fans an opportunity to see Madonna in an environment like they never have before.
On first listening to ‘Splashdown’ by Heron, I’m reminded of Joe Satriani’s track, ‘Always With Me, Always With You’, from his breakthrough 1987 album, ‘Surfing With The Alien’. There’s also elements that suggest Mark Knopfler’s ‘Going Home’, from the film ‘Local Hero’. There’s maybe even a hint of Tommy Emmanuel there. None of this is to suggest Heron’s piece is derivative, but rather, it’s an indication of the incredible quality of the track.
