Kenaniah Band Invite Us To Worship With New Single, ‘I Will Worship’

Formed in 2015 by brothers Jason and Clint Bicknell, Kenaniah Band, from Franklin Ohio, take their name from that of Kenaniah, the head Levite, whose story was written about in the First Book of Chronicles, in the Old Testament of The Bible.

In ancient Israel, the Levite tribe was designated to be in charge of taking care of the religious duties of the whole community. They also had certain educational and political responsibilities. The tribe was were descended from Levi, the third son of Jacob and Leah, and provided the priests for the Temple. Those Levites who weren’t priests were assigned to the duties of singing and or playing music in the Temple, as well as other Temple duties.

Kenaniah in particular was selected for his musical talents: in 1 Chronicles 15:22 it says,

“Kenaniah the head Levite was in charge of the singing; that was his responsibility because he was skillful at it.” (New International Version)

It therefore seems quite appropriate that the Bicknell brothers, who’ve been writing, performing and leading the Worship in their Church for over twenty years, should adopt the name of such a worship leader for their band.

The live recording of ‘I Will Worship’ showcases the talents of the Bicknells, as well as that of the other vocalists and musicians, and shows the passion and dedication they have to their craft. Even if you’re not a Christian or interested in worship songs, there’s no denying the skill set of all those involved. ‘I Will Worship’ conveys a feeling of peace and love, which takes the listener to a higher plane.

‘I Will Worship’ is available to stream and download from Bandcamp, where you can also read the lyrics and listen to other music by Kenaniah Band. You can also find ‘I Will Worship’ on iTunes and Apple Music.
