‘Nomina’ is a 6 track EP, and the latest release for techno/EDM artist, Inverted Walrus. It’s set to come out on 30 November.
The artist blends Techno, EDM, and electronic tracks, making use of analogue and virtual synths, as well as other techical effects. The end result is a unique sound which at the same time reminds the listener of past eras. In some instances it sounds as though he encorporates classical elements in his work.
Each of the six tracks has been crafted separately, with some written over three years ago. The artist takes a totally DIY approach to his work, and writes, mixes, and produces it all himself.
Inverted Walrus started playing piano at the age of 11, before wanting to try something different sonically. Nowadays takes his inspiration from a range of producers and DJs, including Elohim, Chaos Chaos, Deadmau5, No Mana, Rezz, and Daft Punk. He has also experimented with classical music, remixing the work of Haydn.
Inverted Walrus has seen radio play in the form of BBC Introducing playing his first EP. He hopes to get more into performance and DJing, and uses on-the-fly production techniques, ensuring each show is unique.
