Earlier this year we introduced readers to Eliza Arnone, an up and coming musical talent from New Jersey, with her debut release, the eight track album, ‘Red Coat’. Now she’s back with her latest single, ’10 Feet’, which comes complete with a music video. We’re proud to exclusively premiere it here on Essentially Pop!
Directed by Rob Fitzgerald, the video for ’10 Feet’ shows Eliza alone in The Art Factory, an historic building in New Jersey, where she’s giving it all she’s got with her strong and powerful voice. ’10 Feet’ is a pop-country flavoured track, with awesome instrumentation and great lyrics, such as “she’s a combination of beauty and light” and “she’ll wrap you up and bag you in one single move”.
The video is beautifully shot, always maintaining the focus on Eliza, who artfully dances her way around the building, and there’s some nice effects, like the lightbulbs as she starts to sing about light. Indeed, light is a feature both in the song itself and the video: they represent Eliza’s brightness and passion, but also, as a lightbulb exposed to external forces could be broken at any moment, so too we feel Eliza’s own vulnerability. Reflected light also plays a large part in the video, and the song is a reflection of Eliza’s youthful enthusiasm. The chipped paint and cracked beams of The Art Factory are in stark contrast with Eliza’s youth, but both are here for the long haul, and have qualities set to withstand the test of time.
Eliza Arnone might still be young, but she’s in no doubt as to her talents, and holds herself like a seasoned professional. She’s a multi-talented artist with an intuitive ear for a pop chorus, and a gift of knowing how to convey meaningful thoughts into song lyrics. She’s been mentored for many years by studio owner and music educator Jody Joseph, of the Jody Joseph Bongiovi band, who’s served as her vocal coach for many years. ’10 Feet’ was produced by Red Bank artist, Nick Piescor, whose credits include the 2016 release from fellow New Jersey singer-songwriter, Keith Egan.
