Shataramarie Gets ‘NakedInLove/NakedInHate’ With New Album

The daughter of Henry Lee Jackson, who was better known by his stage name of Big Bank Hank, of the SugarHill Gang, Shataramarie Jackson nonetheless grew up listening to Sade and Cher. She started writing songs back in school, and decided to get back into the music industry in 2015, after the death of her father.

Shataramarie was no stranger to the spotlight, appearing in magazines and talent shows with her mother and family as “The West Coast Family”, performing all around the world. She modelled for Baby Gap as a young child, but didn’t start as a solo performer until three years ago, when she was offered a recording contract with EL Mari Entertainment. She released her debut single, ‘Cincinnati (Prince’ton Street)’ in 2015, ahead of her debut EP, ‘This Is Me’, which came out the following year. ‘Cincinnati (Prince’ton Street)’ was the number 1 requested song on RnB Hits, and was nominated for three awards at the inaugural UAH Awards in Los Angeles, in 2016. The next year she was back, this time winning the Top R&B Singer gong at the same awards.

Based in San Francisco, Shataramarie is also a successful model, and is proud to represent the LGBT community. Her latest album, ‘NakedInLove/NakedInHate’ is an expression of her love for women, and was released this year.
