Kugar Black Drops 4 Track EP – ‘Playing in The Shadows’

British rapper and producer Kuger Black released his debut EP, ‘Playing In The Shadows’, on 12 March.

Kugar Black started rapping when he was 20, taking his inspiration from the likes of Drake, Kanye West, and Kendrick Lamar, but at the same time he’s stayed true to his roots, having been brought up on Elvis Presley, James Brown, Michael Jackson – and hip hop giants such as Run DMC, Cypress Hill, and OutKast. Combining all these influences, Kugar came up with his own style fashion and music.

The EP, ‘Playing In The Shadows’, has two love songs spliced in between two powerful trap tracks. Kugar makes references to martial arts and anime in the final song, ‘Always In My Zone’, two of his passions, while EP opener, ‘Superman’ is a song jam-packed full of self-confidence and reaching for the stars. His love songs are more personal, and focusing on the polar opposites of relationships. ‘Time’ is a “love at first sight” song, while ‘My Love Will Never Die’ is an ironic look at a spiteful relationship full of cheating and lies.

‘Playing In The Shadows’ is available on Spotify, iTunes, and Soundcloud. You can find Kugar Black online on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
