GREEN DAY – GOOD RIDDANCE (TIME OF YOUR LIFE)
I grew up listening to guitar music and American Idiot came out when I was really getting into playing. That album got me into Green Day, now whenever this song is on I sing every word!
JACK Ü (WITH JUSTIN BIEBER) – WHERE ARE Ü NOW
This means a lot to me but for a different reason. I think as a major pop artist, to release a song like this, that has a huge dance drop, is a very bold move and I think it did a lot for pop as a genre.

CHAINSMOKERS (FT HALSEY) – CLOSER
This song just makes me think of really great times and happy memories. Every time it comes on I’m taken back to summer memories.
COLDPLAY – ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME
Coldplay are probably my favourite band. When this song came out I was playing it on guitar constantly, annoying the rest of the band! I saw them on this tour and this reminds me how incredible that night was.

BRUNO MARS – THAT’S WHAT I LIKE
The 24K Magic album changed the game for me. This song was an instant banger for me. It’s got such a vibe.
KENDRICK LAMAR (WITH SZA) – ALL THE STARS
This is more about the artists than the song. Kendrick is my favourite artist generally, he’s changed the game completely and this song shows how incredible he’s become. This track is the first single from the Black Panther Movie album that he curated. He’s brought hip hop back into the mainstream with massive impact. Bringing SZA on board is a huge bonus. Her album is unreal.

ONEREPUBLIC – COUNTING STARS
Ryan Tedder is my favourite songwriter and I think this song surprised so many people, especially since OneRepublic hadn’t released any music in a while when this song came out. To be honest I just love this band.
ALL TIME LOW – WEIGHTLESS
Alex Gaskarth is another of my favourite songwriters. He’s written a lot for 5 Seconds Of Summer (among others) and this song just shows that you can write amazing pop songs which also hit hard emotionally. It’s a real anthem.

NIRVANA – SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT
This is the first song we played as a band, and Kurt Cobain is one of the reasons I play guitar. Simple.
THE 1975 – ROBBERS
I’ve seen The 1975 live 5 or 6 times now and this song always hits me. Whenever I’ve seen them they make me want to be a better musician.
