Describing his sound as “a fusion of hip-hop, feel good shit, reggae, jazz, and a little bit of trap combined”, Felly has developed into an artist with whom it’s difficult to make comparisons. His album, ‘This Shit Comes In Waves’, was followed by an EP, ‘Young Fel’ – and now he’s dropped his latest, ‘Wild Strawberries’. Featuring guest spots from the likes of GYYPS, Trip Carter, Frex, Konshens, among others, Felly has tapped into different influences because they add up to the sound he wants. He’s stated that his overall goal is to have the same sort of impact as Bob Marley, and he’s certainly on his way to achieving that.

The video for ‘Wide Angle’ is all tripping and California sunshine, with psychedelic imagery including flowers, balloons, strawberries, and swirling shapes. There’s a real festival feel to the track as Felly and his friends set up inner tubes and rafts, and turn the barren hillside into their own private beach. Directed by Walu Mwalilino, the clip makes good use of lens distortion, colour replacement, and flipped perspectives. Throw in a beautiful bridge from guest vocalist Konshens, and this video is a treat for the senses.
